POLICE have seized a moped from a 14-year-old boy after complaints from residents.

People in the Stockbrook area reported the youngster, who was seen riding the bike earlier this month.

Officers went to the scene and found out that he had borrowed it from a friend. Both were cautioned and the bike was seized.

PC Kelvin Hannah said: “We are dealing with antisocial behaviour reported by residents which includes children riding motorbikes.

“We will take the appropriate action which could mean a court appearance.”

He said the police were also targeting anyone driving without a licence or insurance.

Contact PC Hannah on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
